Trio of Roses and Violets

Description

This 1860’s pattern comes from a finished work in the seller’s colletion. The design was executed on a laticework background in shades of gold. I have eliminated that as it appeared to busy for today’s taste and diminished the beauty of the design. Originally the Violets and the white Rose was done in beadwork which made them stand out. The pattern is made up of 47 DMC colors and is 160 stitches wide by 160 stitches tall. While the original work was never used, I presume it was desgined for a chairseat or cushion front.
