Description

This 1860’s pattern comes from a finished work in the sellers collection. The design was executed in bead and woolwork with the beads for the snow bells, silk threads for the hydrangea flowers and the balance done in wool. On a typical black background of the period it would look striking against many strong colors. The design is 160 stitches wide by 160 stitches tall and uses 35 DMC colors. I obtained the color pallet from the reverse side of the needlework as the front had faded slightly.
