These two patterns came from an 1865 finished sampler made by a young girl aged 10, from the seller’s collection. The single poppy oval consists of 19 DMC colors and is 38 stitches wide by 54 stitches high. It’s counterpart, the Single Rose oval is slighly larger at 42 stitches wide by 57 stitches high and consists of 23 DMC colors. As they were both on the same sampler on either side of a central motif, I chose to keep them together.
