This Berlin Work Pattern by French designer Sajou, has a rather high number, but the date of the pattern, which was printed in Italy, was August 1854. So it appears that there was a different numbering system for Italy. The pattern is made up of two slightly oval designs, each one is 62 stitches wide by 72 stitches tall. The Iris design is made up of 29 DMC colors, and the Rose design has 26 DMC shades. Many of these colors are in both pictures, and they are sold as a pair.
