This 1860’s pattern is from Grunthal’s Verlag in Berlin and is part of the seller’s collection. The design is pattern number 6689. While the original pattern was shown against a black background, which became popular after Prince Albert’s death, I have shown it against a white background which makes the colors appear more realistic. The design as shown is 201 stitches wide by 170 stitches tall, slightly larger than the original pattern, which only showed one pattern and the start of the second in all directions. Thirty six DMC colors are used in this pattern.
