Description
This pattern comes from a finished work in the seller’s collection. Circa 1860, this pattern originated in England and was a combination of wool with silkwork highlights. Comprised of 49 DMC colors to get all the shading, it is 128 stitches wide by 129 stitches tall. The original background was a deep maroon, which was popular at the time, but it would look striking against any background.
