Description
This 1870s pattern by Hertz & Wegener of Berlin, was designed to be a chairseat. Upholstery items such as chairbacks and chairseats, were executed on Java Canvas. Java Canvas was a coarse penelope style mesh that was 8 stitches to the inch. This gave the embroider the ability to use smaller designs to fill large chairs or benches. Today, this could be a purse or a pillow top or picture. This design is 138 stitches wide by 113 stitches tall. There are 38 DMC shades used to complete the pattern.
