Carl FW Wicht Bird in Wreath

Description

This Berlin Woolwork Pattern by Carl FW Wicht, was trimmed  and devoid of the pattern number so it is hard to date when it was created.  However, given the bright shadings of both the bird and the surrounding foliage, I would put this in the 1850’s time period.  The design is square at 155 stitches wide by 155 stitches tall and uses 63 DMC colors to capture it’s beauty.
