This 1850s pattern comes from the seller's collection. Originally from Berlin, Germany, the original pattern was as bright as the day it was made. The digitized pattern is made up of 60 DMC colors and is 200 stitches wide by 210 stitches tall to achieve the realism in shading.

Comprised of 30 DMC colors, this could be reduced by either eliminating the background stitching or making it of one shade rather than the way the original Berlin Work was completed.

This 1870s French pattern of interlocking clam shells was designed to to be executed in 3 shades of a color for each shell. A small sample was shown to give a representative view of what the completed pattern would look like. The pattern is made up of 55 DMC colors and is 45 stitches wide and 36 stitches tall. The pattern was created to give the stitcher a chance to use left over yarns. The pattern can be enlarged in either direction and can be made into anything from a pin cushion to a sofa pillow.

Modeled after the Staffordshire dogs of the time, this pattern is 152 stitches wide by 97 stitches tall and consists of 31 DMC colors. While the original pattern had the typical blue cushion, this could be changed to any color of the stitchers choice by replacing the 5 cushion colors.

This bellpull pattern was originally made by Sajou in France during the late 1870s and comes from the seller's collection. The pattern had faded with age, but I was able to decifer the original colors from creases and folds in the pattern. Consisting of 30 DMC colors, the pattern shows one repeat plus the start of the second grouping and is 40 stitches wide by 298 stitches tall. A stunning combination of stylized fans of feathers and coral branches was a decided retreat from the normal flowers of the time.

Circa 1870s, the pattern is made up of 9 DMC colors and is 84 stitches wide by 300 stitches tall. Originally, the completed work was done in wool, with the lightest gold in silk and was over 6 feet tall.

The note that was pinned to them clearly states that it was given as a wedding gift, but was unsigned. These two patterns came from an 1865 finished sampler made by a young girl aged 10, from the seller's collection. The single poppy oval consists of 19 DMC colors and is 38 stitches wide by 54 stitches high. It's counterpart, the Single Rose oval is slighly larger at 42 stitches wide by 57 stitches high and consists of 23 DMC colors. As they were both on the same sampler on either side of a central motif, I chose to keep them together.

This small pansy bouquet pattern was part of a larger Berlin Woolwork Sampler in the seller's collection. Made up of 18 DMC colors, it is 38 stitches wide by 41 stitches high. These samplers were made by young women to practice both stitches and letters. This particular pattern comes from one that was made in 1848 by a young girl who was 8 years of age. The muted colors are true to the original finished work.

CALLA LILLY BEADWORK CHAIR SET - $12 USD
This 1860s beadwork pattern of Calla Lillies, comes from a finished work in the seller's collection. The white and grey portions of the patterns were originally done in beadwork while the leaves and background were done in Berlin Wool. Each pattern is made up of 31 DMC colors which matches the original pattern. The chair back is an impressive 159 stitches wide by 190 stitches tall and the chair seat is 157 stitches wide by 137 stitches tall. The background is shown in a burgundy color, but would look equally impressive in any jewel color. Both pattern backgrounds can be increased to meet the stitchers needs. Each is made up of 17 DMC colors, including the background color which was based off of the finished chairback.

This 1880S pattern is of a Turkish design which was in vogue in the latter part of the 19th century where many homes had "Turkish Corners" or nooks. The design was created to edge curtains, be a center stripe on a chair, or the outer border of carpeting. The pattern shows the design with a duplicated repeat for ease of replication. As shown it is made up of 11 DMC colors and is 169 stitches wide by 79 stitches tall. Completed on needlepoint canvas with the design on either eddge, this would make a great runner design.
